Making week is a cross course (BAASO/MAACI) and cross stage collaborative event, the focus of whichwill be around hands on design andmaking of 1:1 scale structures, spacesand objects.

 

Design ConstraintsTo facilitate storage requirements the structures andprototyes need to accommodate two main constraints:the first being large structures need to be demountableinto a kit of parts that can be stored in a garage and the second being parts andprototypes need to be lightweight to allow for easylifting and carrying to the garages by hand.

 

To promote cross stage collaboration - teams will be comprised of students from different stages. Stage two and three leaders will help to try to ensure there is a reasonably even spread of skilled makers in each team – in this way students get the chance to learn from other students who may be more skilled than them in making.
